What's it about? 
This seems to be a historically-based fictional account of settlers travelling through the western American wilderness along the route of the legendary Oregon Trail. It contains a wealth of historical information, though a few prejudicial opinions regarding the Native American peoples seem to have been included. Nevertheless, it is a pretty good read.This might be useful for historical research purposes or Social Studies lesson plans. Available in Newton eMate and Classic formats. Enjoy!
